2023 is almost upon us and with it so many exciting new endeavors! This will most likely be my last update until the new year, but I’ll try not to make it too long. While this past year has blown me away with all of your support as I published the Fifth Sun series and participated in so many fun events, I’m hopeful that next year won’t disappoint you either. If you’re curious to know what it may hold, then keep on reading… (;
Revenge de los Muertos (Fifth Sun #1) the audiobook has officially been released!!! I am SO EXCITED to share this with you all!! Narrators Nichole James and Pablo Azar along with several audio engineers have been hard at work for the past few months to create this and it is now available to enjoy.
This audiobook is available most everywhere including libraries! Audible, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, Spotify, iBooks, Hoopla, Libby, Libro.fm… You should be able to find it and if not then do ask your local library to please add it to their catalog (also it may take a bit of time for distribution to reach your favorite retailer so if you don’t see it now, check back in soon!). I’ve learned that audiobook production is neither cheap nor swift, but I certainly think it is worth it and really hope that when you listen to it you’ll think so too!
All of my eBooks will be available beyond Amazon starting NOW! While being Amazon exclusive does have its perks (and the paperbacks aren’t budging for now), it wasn’t enough to keep me there to be honest. While these benefits have been great for some authors, I’ve found them neutral for my books plus I’ve really been wanting to have my books available in libraries. SO, I’ve made the decision and now that most of my books have been let out of the exclusivity contract (and the others will be soon), I’ve submitted them for expanded distribution! My hope is that this will help make my books more readily available to readers everywhere.
The eBooks will be available most everywhere including libraries (Overdrive, Hoopla, etc.) along with Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, and Apple iBooks. You should be able to find it and if not then please do ask your local library to add it to their catalog (also it may take a bit of time for distribution to reach your favorite retailer or library so if you don’t see it now, check back in soon!).
Another challenge defeated! Publishing the Fifth Sun series so quickly left me with some serious burnout and what I hate about that is I never know when it will end. It’s so difficult getting back into the writing habit, but it felt wrong to just give up and abandon my career never to write another story (also seemed rather dramatic lol). Thankfully NaNoWriMo was coming up and helped get me back on track! I’m happy to share that I smashed this challenge (a miracle honestly haha)!
Currently I have written almost two of three novellas for my upcoming space opera trilogy so I’m going to keep up with this momentum to finish the rest and then focus on edits and cover design!
The Faraway Chronicles
Do you remember when I announced my next writing project, The Silent Siren? Well, my brain simply couldn’t be stopped at writing one standalone novel in this space opera setting and instead came up with three. In the end, what was supposed to be a single novel, turned into a trio of novellas. These will be available separately on Kindle and as a bound collection in paperback. The novellas will be as follows:
The Silent Siren (inspired by The Little Mermaid)
The Candid Liar (inspired by Pinocchio)
The Haunted Phantom (inspired by The Phantom of the Opera)
These were so fun to write and although the final result changed quite a lot from the idea I hatched way back in 2016, I’m very happy with it and really hope that you will be too!
So what exactly can you look forward to in the shiny new year of 2023? The Faraway Chronicles, of course! I’m working hard on transforming the current draft into a publish-ready space adventure for you to devour.
And after that? you may ask. Well, might I introduce to you…The Moorlington Murders. An urban fantasy murder mystery series has sounded like a lot of fun to write and I’m finally going for it. Set in a small town inspired by my own hometown (and a couple others that helped raise me), there will be annual pie competitions, spooky shenanigans, and neighbors that bite. Sounds fun, no? I’ll share more on this series when I get to it. Currently it’s just an idea I keep adding to and developing, but I’m trying to stay mostly focused on The Faraway Chronicles until that’s all finished.
Finally, in case I don’t get the chance to say it on the day, Merry Christmas to all of you! My readers mean so much to me and your continued support is so valuable in helping me to keep going even when burn out or writer’s block or life in general try to get in the way. I’ve just started a new job and I’m a little worried it will try to suck out my energy and time, but I know with such loyal readers waiting for new stories that I’ll be able to keep going!
Thank you so much for everything, dear readers, and I hope you have a wonderful rest of the year!
Well that’s about all for now! I do have one other surprise for you coming spring 2023, but I think I’ll keep it a secret for a bit longer hehe. I hope you’re as excited for these new stories as I am and I hope that you will have a wonderful rest of the year.
