Hello everyone!
I’m thrilled with the crisp fall weather and pumpkin spice everything, but I’ve always been partial to this season. Are you excited for it or mourning the end of summer? To me fall isn’t just lovely, it’s the perfect mood for cozying up with a blanket and a good book! The last book I read was Crowbones by Anne Bishop and let me just say it’s the perfect book for the upcoming spooky season.
This newsletter won’t be very long, but it does contain a very exciting announcement!! If you don’t follow me on social media somewhere then you’ll want to so you can be among the first to see teasers for it as well as the official date.

MoTownCon
Just a reminder that MoTownCon is THIS WEEKEND! I hope to see you there! I’ll be in cosplay and my table will be full of books and swag (I’ll have custom stickers, posters, bookmarks, and more!).
Visit MoTownCon.com for more info.

Audiobooks
I’m very excited to announce that Revenge de los Muertos (Fifth Sun #1) is in the process of being made into an audiobook! Selah’s chapters will be read by Nichole James and Rafael’s chapters will be read by Pablo Azar. Both are talented and have been wonderful to work with and I can’t wait to hear the final result! Our goal is to have it out in early November, but keep an eye on your inbox because I’ll announce when it’s official.
Audiobooks, it unsurprisingly turns out, are rather expensive to produce, however so many of you have told me that they are your most used format for books that I decided to go for it! Hopefully you’ll enjoy this one and if so I may be able to slowly but surely turn the rest of my books into audio. How cool would that be?

NaNoWriMo
Who’s participating in NaNoWriMo this year? If you’re local to the Mooresville/Lake Norman area, you’re welcome to meet up at the Mooresville Public Library where local authors Katherine L.E. White, Carrie Humphrey, and I will be hosting reserved spaces for writers along with planning aids and a “We did it!” celebration.
Visit nanowrimo.org to register (it’s free!) and my “Events” page for more info on our local meet ups.
What about a writing update?? Truthfully, I found myself needing to take a bit of a break from writing, recovering from the wild speed at which I published the Fifth Sun series. Instead I’ve been working on getting my books into various local bookstores, preparing for MoTownCon, and navigating through my first production of an audiobook. Also, don’t fret! Just because my daily hours of writing have been put on hold doesn’t mean I haven’t been prepping my next book. October/MoTownCon marks the end of my break and I’ll be right back at it! I can’t wait to share this epic sci-fi adventure with you!
Stay tuned…
