Hello everyone!
It’s been quite a while since I’ve released a newsletter! Mostly that was because I didn’t want to spam your inbox as I was already sending out teasers and announcements etc. for different events, book and audiobook releases, which is a fantastic reason for not sending any newsletters in my opinion. Unfortunately, lately I’ve been slacking on the newsletter front because I haven’t really had much news to share, but I’ll get into that in the rest of this post. Just know that I’m happy to be dipping my toe back into the writing world as I slowly settle into a new rhythm of life and I hope you’ve been kindly patient and stuck around to see what I publish next. Anyway, onto the news!

Life UPdate
Life turned into a wonderful yet overwhelming whirlwind in 2024 beginning with the surprising love my lil 1950s vampire book, When Life Gives You Lemons, received, followed by meeting someone I knew would become special in my life, and bringing me to 2025 where I find myself married and moved to the beautiful Appalachian mountains! I’m still an NC author, just no longer in the Charlotte area though you’ll still see me around from time to time as I simply can’t resist visiting!

Writing Update
As one can imagine, with so much surprise and change in my life my writing has taken a bit of a breather. Not including audiobooks, I only released one book last year and this year I’ve only released a short story so far for a local author anthology (Portals & Doorways), then my next definite project was a fairytale romcom part of another group author release set for 2026. The fairytale series of standalones, however, just got pushed back to 2028.
As disappointing as that reschedule may sound it’s a good thing actually since I’ve been struggling with some writer’s block for that story and this takes some of the pressure off of my shoulders (pressure often equals writer’s block for me and I lose the ability to have fun with a story and let my mind wander in its hypotheticals), but it also means maybe I’d better find another writing project to dive into so you all don’t have to wait so long for another new story! I have a few ideas bouncing around in my head and the mountains are a great place for inspiration, but as always I enjoy hearing what my readers are most keen to read next too.

Coming Soon…
Since I now live in the mountains I’ll need to start figuring out how to fit my books into this new community. I’m still good friends with the bookstores, local makers, and readers back home and I hope that will never change, but it’s time to explore what’s around me in my new geographical community. I have some slightly less-than-pristine but signed copies of my books I hope to scatter among any little free libraries in the area and I’ve also made the scary step of introducing myself to a local bookstore called FireLight Book & Candle located in Blowing Rock, NC! (As an introvert that step had me sweating lol). They kindly reviewed my book When Life Gives You Lemons and have offered to carry a couple of copies in their store! I hope they may consider some of my other books in the future to place on their shelves too, but it’s a start! If you’re ever in the area, please stop by to support this sweet local bookstore and if you don’t get as nervous as I do about such things then I’d appreciate you giving my books a shoutout to their staff! ♡
FYI: You can find where to buy my books locally on my Shop page!
I know I haven’t been doing many signings lately, not that I ever was the best at finding opportunities for hustling and putting myself front and center of the public eye, but I’m hopeful that I’ll be able to do another one soon (Maybe at FireLight? Or maybe Sassafras over in Black Mountain will have me back someday?) and that my books will find some love up here in Appalachia. Wish me luck!
That’s it for now. I know it isn’t much of an update especially on the writing front other than the disappointing announcement of the fairytale project getting pushed back (but hey, I was feeling so stressed about it that I was considering dropping out so at least now I can stay in it and that story will get written!), but there has just been a lot for me to process and juggle lately from surprising twists to deep loss and, well, that’s really the only excuse I have. I’m not quitting though, not yet. I don’t quite believe I’ve written or published my last book, and I truly appreciate all of the support everyone has given me even during this time of waiting. Our culture here in the U.S. is so fast-paced these days that it’s far too easy to forget and move past what isn’t right in front of us, so those of you who consistently show me support are such a wonderful gift and keep me hoping. I’m not entirely sure what I will write next, I know I’ve suggested what some of my future projects might be in past posts and on social media, but nothing has been set in stone and, well, we’ll just have to see what story is drawn out of me next.
Stay tuned…
